Mouser-Sponsored Formula E Team Preps for Big Race in Paris

April 20, 2016 - With a solid hold on third place, the Mouser Electronics-sponsored Dragon Racing Formula E Team is prepared for a strong finish as it heads to Europe for the last five races in the exciting Formula E all-electric car racing season. First up will be the challenging Paris ePrix on April 23 through the ancient streets of the French capital. Mouser is a major sponsor of the 2015-16 Dragon Racing in collaboration with highly valued supplier partners Molex and Panasonic.

The talented driving team of Jerome D'Ambrosio and Loic Duval had a sturdy outing April 2 in Long Beach, California, with D'Ambrosio taking seventh place, just seconds ahead of teammate Duval, who finished eighth. The team finished with a firm hold on third place overall, leading the fourth-place team by a hefty 35 points.

The race in Paris is the first European round of the 2015-2016 season pitting the fully-electric single-seaters on a tough 1.93-kilometer course around the architectural complex of Les Invalides. With 14 turns winding its way past the Army Museum and the Tomb of Napoleon, the track is located in a unique setting, combining historical monuments with visions of the future.

This is the second year that Mouser Electronics, the global authorized distributor with the newest semiconductors and electronic components, is sponsoring Formula E racing. Formula E is a new global racing series from Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), the governing body for world motor sports. Formula E features cars powered exclusively by electric power and represents a vision for the future of the motor sports industry over the coming decades, serving as a framework for research and development around the electric vehicle, accelerating general interest in these cars and promoting sustainability.

"This kind of technologically advanced auto racing provides the perfect platform to raise awareness for Mouser as well as our industry-leading partners, Molex and Panasonic." said Todd McAtee, Vice President of Americas, Business Development for Mouser Electronics. "It's a thrill for all of us here at Mouser to be partners in a high-tech sport that is paving the way for future automotive technologies."

The race in Paris will be followed by races in Berlin on May 21 and Moscow on June 4, ending the season in London for a double header on July 2 and 3. To learn about the series and view a detailed schedule, visit www.mouser.com/formula-e/.
