The TCS3448 is a high-performance multi-spectral color sensor designed for precise color analysis and spectral matching in demanding color calibration used for camera enhancement (CCT, AWB, exposure time), display profiling, horticultural lighting control, and material identification applications.
The ams OSRAM TCS3448, available from Mouser, is a 14-channel, highly versatile, multi-purpose spectral light sensor optimized to sense spectral components of ambient light in the visible range (380 nm to 1000 nm) and feature 10 equally spaced, visible channels, plus dedicated infrared, clear, and flicker detection channels (50/60 Hz), and buffer data for externally calculating other flicker frequencies to enable accurate spectral reconstruction and ambient light characterization. With an integrated analog-to-digital converter (ADC) and I2C interface, the TCS3448 simplifies system integration while delivering high-resolution spectral data supporting advanced color science and machine learning applications where spectral accuracy and repeatability are critical.
Mouser also stocks the ams OSRAM TCS3448_EVM_KT optical sensor evaluation kit for evaluating the advanced spectral sensing capabilities of the TCS3448 14-channel multi-spectral color sensor. Featuring a USB interface and intuitive GUI software, the ams OSRAM kit enables real-time visualization and analysis of spectral data across 10 visible channels, plus infrared, clear, and flicker detection. The kit includes an onboard microcontroller for seamless sensor communication and supports configurable parameters, such as gain, integration time, and measurement modes.
