TE Connectivity / ERNI PowerElements

TE Connectivity's ERNI PowerElements provides various power components with combined elastic and massive press-fit zones. While the massive press-fit zone guarantees torque support and secure fixtures, the flexible press-fit zone provides optimal power transmission. The combined flexible and massive press-fit zone is available in variants for M5, M6, M8, and M10. They can transmit currents of up to 290A per PowerElement (at 20°C) and operate in the temperature range from -40°C to +135°C. The purely massive press-fit zone is available in M3, M4, M5, M6, M8, and M10. These components operate in a temperature range from -40°C to +135°C. Applications for TE Connectivity's ERNI PowerElements include high-current range (central electrical systems, security systems, etc.), hybrid applications, and wherever lots of power is connected to the PCB and transmitted (power boards).

Features

  • No tearing of the circuit paths caused by the "jet effect" during press-fit
  • Minimal swarf formation during press-fit
  • Less danger of delamination and therefore undesired shorts due to moisture trapped in the PCB
  • Greater reliability during temperature change and vibration
  • Improved process safety of the press in/out process
  • Greater hole tolerance with lower cost for the PCB
  • Improved press-fit force adjustment application
  • Less press-fit force for high number of poles, less stress on the PCB
  • General stress minimization of PCB
