EPCOS / TDK HVC27 High-Voltage Contactors
TDK HVC27 High-Voltage Contactors safely and reliably switch off continuous DC currents of 300A to 500A and operating DC voltages of up to 1000V in lithium-ion batteries in ≤20ms. This achievement is due to the gas-filled ceramic arc chamber. These high-current contactors are available with single or double coil and working voltages of 12V or 24V. The single-coil version requires 6W in continuous operation, and the dual-coil version only 4W. The service life for resistive opening (450V/300A) includes 1500 operations for the single-coil variant and 2000 operations for dual-coil devices. At 750V/300A, these values are 150 and 1000 opening cycles, respectively. An optional Hall-effect sensor for the auxiliary contact is used to detect the switching state of the main contacts. The HVC27 series is UL certified and offered in three mechanical versions: upright (C1) with dimensions of 95mm x 44mm x 90mm (L x W x H), horizontal (C5) with 90mm x 90mm x 46mm, and a replacement type (NIL) for HVC25 (HVC200, 300, and 500). The optimized hermetically sealed construction offers reliability in harsh environments.
TDK HVC27 High-Voltage Contactors are suited for use in a wide range of applications, including DC fast charging stations, energy storage systems (ESS), and uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems.
