Monolithic Power Systems (MPS) MPQ448x Step-Down Converters

Monolithic Power Systems (MPS) MPQ448x Step-Down Converters with switching mode offer a 5V at 3A Type-C configurational channel for the USB port. These step-down converters achieve up to 6A of output current with excellent load and line regulation over a wide input supply range. The MPQ448x converters offer single and dual USB current-limit switch variants with options for programmable frequency and spread spectrum features. These converters control the power of USB ports and also provide support for Dedicated Charging Ports (DCP).

These step-down converters provide full protection features that include hiccup current limiting, output over-voltage protection, and thermal shutdown. With a minimal number of external components required and 5mm x 5mm QFN-package, these converters are readily applicable in USB hubs and USB Type-C charging ports.
