Infineon Technologies PSOC™ 4000T Multi-Sense MCUs
Infineon Technologies PSOC™ 4000T Multi-Sense Microcontrollers (MCUs) feature Infineon’s fifth-generation CAPSENSE™ technology with Multi-Sense capabilities, including capacitive sensing, inductive sensing, liquid level sensing, and hover touch capabilities. The supported sensing technologies are combined in a single PSOC 4 MCU to optimize performance, enable new use cases, or realize cost savings. The PSOC 4000T series provides reliability, robustness, liquid tolerance, and Multi-Sense capabilities. The devices are suitable for wearables, hearables, and Internet of Things (IoT) devices that require low power and enhanced performance for a better user experience. Additionally, these MCUs offer an easy upgrade path for existing PSOC 4000 and PSOC 4000S designs to the fifth-generation CAPSENSE technology with software and package compatibility.
CAPSENSE™ Touch and Multi-Sense Technology
Infineon’s 5th Generation CAPSENSE technology expands its leading capacitive sensing technology with a proprietary inductive sensing technology, as well as a non-invasive and non-contact liquid sensing solution. 5th Generation CAPSENSE provides 10x higher SNR (signal-to-noise ratio) performance with 10x lower consumption than previous generations of CAPSENSE. The 5th generation CAPSENSE touch-sensing tech is ideal for wearables and battery-powered smart devices. An always-on feature significantly reduces power usage in active and standby modes, extending battery life.

ModusToolbox™ Software and Sensor Design Tools
ModusToolbox software is a modern, extensible development environment supporting a wide range of Infineon microcontroller devices, including the PSoC products. Provided as a collection of development tools, libraries, and embedded runtime assets, it provides a flexible and comprehensive development experience.
Infineon supplies a rich set of development resources to support the PSoC 4000T. The ModusToolbox development platform backs the development of CAPSENSE-based systems with an integrated Sensor Designer tool for liquid level and inductive sensing, and a touch firmware library for reliable touch interface design. Thanks to the ModusToolbox platform, CAPSENSE applications are easily portable from one PSoC controller to another, allowing HMI application scalability across broad families of product designs.
The ModusToolbox package includes desktop programs that enable:
• The creation of new embedded applications
• The management of software components
• Configuration of device peripherals and middleware
• Compiling, programming, and debugging
