POSISTOR® PTC Thermistors

Murata POSISTOR® Positive Temperature Coefficient (PTC) Thermistors are ideal for circuit protection in a variety of applications, such as temperature sensor and temperature compensation. These devices are also suitable for current control in common household appliances, humidifiers, dryers of all kinds, refrigerators, freezers, and air conditioners. In a conventional NTC thermistor, the resistance decreases when the temperature increases, but for the Murata PTC thermistors, the resistance rises sharply when their temperature exceeds a specific temperature.

PRF PTC Thermistors

Murata Electronics PRF Series PTC Thermistors offer a fast response time, 470Ω to 10kΩ resistance range, and 2mm x 1.25mm maximum dimensions. PRF thermistors accurately detect overheating in multiple areas using a very simple circuit through sharp changes in resistance. Using sharp changes in electrical resistance also translates into outstanding noise resistance. Murata PRF Series PTC Thermistors are ideal for mobile phones, power supplies, LED bulbs, and automotive applications.
