ESD Protection Solutions

Littelfuse provides a wide range of products that protect components from ESD threats. ESD threats are extremely fast, low-energy events that can wreak havoc on electronic equipment. Trends in reduced chip protection and harsher end-user environments are requiring the need for enhanced protection solutions. Littelfuse produces varistors, suppressors, indicators, and more so users can find the right protection to ensure the long-term reliable operation of applications.

Transient Voltage Suppressor (TVS) Diodes

Littelfuse TVS (Transient Voltage Suppression) Diodes are a broad range of circuit protection products designed to protect electronic circuits against transients and overvoltage threats such as EFT (electrically fast transients) and ESD (electro-static discharge). Lightning strikes, inductive load switching, and ESD cause electrical over-stresses associated with the transmission on data lines and electronic circuits. Offered in a variety of surface mount and through-hole circuit board mounting formats, the TVS Diode portfolio includes high peak pulse current and peak pulse power options up to 20kA and 30kW, respectively. Littelfuse TVS Diodes are chosen for the fast response time (low clamping voltage), lower capacitance, and low leakage current. TVS Diodes are available in both unidirectional (unipolar) or bidirectional (bipolar) diodes circuit configurations. 

SC7520/AQ7520 SPA® TVS Diode Arrays

Littelfuse SC7520 and AQ7520 (Automotive-Grade) SPA® TVS Diode Arrays include eight-channel ultra-low capacitance and high-level ESD protection diodes to protect high-speed data rates such as USB 3.1, DisplayPort, and e-SATA. A typical capacitance of 0.32pF helps ensure signal integrity. These robust devices can safely absorb repetitive ESD strikes at the maximum level specified in the IEC 61000-4-2 international standard (Level 4, ±8kV contact discharge) without performance degradation and safely dissipate 6A of 8/20μs surge current (IEC 61000-4-5 2nd edition). 

TVS Silicon Protection Arrays (SPA)

Littelfuse Silicon Protection Array (SPA®) TVS Diodes are designed to protect electronics from very fast and damaging voltage transients, such as lightning and electrostatic discharge (ESD). These diodes offer an ideal protection solution for I/O interfaces and digital and analog signal lines in computer and consumer portable electronics. Littelfuse TVS diodes offer a broader application use and improved impulse protection performance over conventional diodes.
